Ever since I went to a large electronics retail store near me to get something totally different than these bulbs and saw the Philips Hue demonstrated in concert with what I was looking for, I was hooked on them. I have them throughout my home and have them in my office at work. I have about 30 of them in my house and 10 of them in my office. To say the least, I am more than satisfied with the Philips Hue products.
Now the review…
Philips have been making bulbs for many years and then when they broke into the industry of smart wifi bulbs, they became quite the hit. Pair the hue bulbs with the Hue Bridge and the app, one’s creative side can really shine.
The Build Quality.
These bulbs have a little heft to them whereas there is a lot of technology that needs to be crammed into a space the size … well the size of a light bulb. The build quality in my opinion is pretty solid and done well. The illumination part diffuses the LEDs used in these bulbs are very smooth and do not see any hot spots whatsoever from the LEDS inside. The colors produced from the RGB LEDS are pretty rich and vibrant but as in every RGB style bulb, the light output will vary from color to color and different white temperatures. Case in point. If you choose the bulbs to light up in blue, the overall Lumens factor will be less than if you choose to use Yellow or other bright colors of the spectrum. But if you go with the white ambiance aspect, the whites will pretty much be equal in Lumens factor from the lower temperature like 2700K to the higher temperatures like 6500k.
Features.
These bulbs are full of them when you connect them with the Hue bridge. You can have them turn on and off with the use of Google Home, Assistant or Alexa. You can turn them on or off with the use of the user-friendly app and even turn them on or off when you are out and about as long as you have the app connected to the cloud server set up within your smart home. You can set up various different scenes as long as you have multiple Hue Bulbs. Scenes really don’t look great or seems simplistic if you have just one bulb. To get the best results, I recommend 5 or more of the Hue Bulbs in a room to get the different color scenes to show off well. (Refer to the bedroom pic I posted with this review.)
The latest versions of the Hue Bulbs can be operated via Bluetooth on the dedicated Bluetooth version of the Hue app. So, with bulbs having the Bluetooth technology, you do not need to have the Hue Bridge. The downside to that is you will not be able to set up multiple rooms and you can only control 10 Hue Bulbs via Bluetooth vs. up to 50 Hue Bulbs with using the Hue Bridge.
If there is anything that would be considered a downfall to these bulbs, is they are a bit on the pricy side. I have a few thousand dollars invested in my Hue Echo System and love everything about these bulbs. That would be the only flaw I can find with them.
The Recap.
These are some of the top of the line of smart bulbs. Can you find cheaper bulbs as far as costs is concerned? Yes, you can. But the saying goes, “You get what you pay for.” And that holds true with these bulbs. If you are willing to invest into the Hue System, you won’t be disappointed.

I got roped into the Hue ecosystem a few years back. I was always turned off by the high pricing. I started off with a couple of light bars and a Hue Bloom. The rest is history… I’m now drinking the Philips Hue kool-aid.
I now have 4 light bars, 2 Hue Blooms, a Gradient Light strip for a 65″ TV, a Hue Sync Box, 3 Hue Lily outdoor lights and 6 A19 smart light bulbs.
This review is for the 3 pack of A19 lights only.
The good: The lights are easy to set and are reliable. It’s easy to create scenes and the lights look nice.
The bad or so-so: I now never buy any of the lights for full price. Between Philips website and Amazon and Best Buy, if you keep looking and are patient you can often save up to 25% off retail. That’s the time to buy.
The A19 lights are plenty bright on white or shades of white. The brightness when using deep colors is mediocre at best. I wish they were brighter when using colors.
Again, if you can get these on sale you’ll feel better about your purchase. These are addictive.

I use it with a Hue bridge that is controlled by my google. Perhaps I might buy some 75 ?? watt ones in the future but for soft lighting in a bedroom it works just fine.

He probado varias marcas de focos inteligentes y no hay quien se les pare al lado, son realmente espectaculares. Funcionan 100% y su integración con apple home kit es perfecta. Tiene muchos accesorios muy buenos y muy útiles. 100% recomendado

I have Hue bulbs throughout my house and I couldn’t be happier with them. These white ambience and color bulbs are great for using in my table lamps and sconces. They give off plenty of light and Philips has tons of light recipes to choose from in their app so you can set the mood according to how you feel. You can also create your own light setting. These light will work with Bluetooth or for a full slate of settings you can connect them with the Hue bridge. If you are going to use more than 10 lights then you must use the bridge. I love these lights and highly recommend them. They aren’t cheap but they are worth it especially if you are just starting out with smart lighting as no other company offers you the quality and variety of lights that Philips does. If you use Apple HomeKit these work great. They also connect to Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control. I personally prefer the security and the user interface of Apple but I have tried it with Alexa as well and was happy with the results. You can’t go wrong with these lights. They work great straight out of the box. Setup is a breeze and you can start using them within minutes. I like that I can program them to turn on when it senses me coming up the driveway so I never have to enter a dark house. You can also set them to turn on and off according to whatever schedule you want. They are truly amazing. Once you buy one you will want more and more of them.

I have a hard time going to bed at a decent time And I’ve always had a hard time with bright lights first thing in the morning, sitting this for a 30 sunset when we turn on an episode of a show knocks My husband and I both right out, and the sunrise has helped with waking up and my issues with bright lights in the morning tremendously!
I found this light as a suggestion I reddit and I do not regret it!

They’re ok. Really hard to get a decent indigo out of them and there’s no way these have as high a cri as are claimed in their advertising. I’m a warm light guy because I have a soul and stuff and don’t want to make everyone look like vampires. The warm light spectrum in these is a real color killer. It almost looks a bit fluorescent. It’s not horrible if the only white light in the room is coming from these, but if you pair them with a quality soft or warm bulb, it’s clear that they don’t hold up. (Better than lifx whites though. Big yikes there)
The colors are annoyingly muted too. When I’m creating a color scheme, I really like to get a rich indigo going for the room and something warm to light the subjects. For some reason, it seems like hue products engage the white diodes when you hit that blue to purple part of the spectrum. Lifx for colors all day every day no contest.
Love the hub system though. These are the most reliable smart lights in my setup.
