I installed this lock in a rental unit and I love it. I can easily set access codes and see who is entering or leaving. It has an auto locking feature which is really useful too. The install was incredibly easy. It connected to my network with no issues and I can manage the lock on my phone. No bridge of other adaper was required. I will be getting more of these

It’s great when it works but who wants a lock that only works 75% of the time. Will lose connection to wifi even when it’s right next to the router. The ring camera that is right next to it never has connection problems but this lock still has connection issues even after installing a mesh network right next to it. More often than not it says it can’t connect.
We have put in codes that have saved and say they are saved I. The access list but still don’t work on the lock. Not reliable. Very frustrating when we installed these on a vacation rental home and were expecting 100% reliability.

It’s excellent. high quality craftsmanship and very convenient.
Just one draw back, it doesn’t work with Apple Watch or HomeKit like the Deadbolt Wifi model.
Bummer to me & the family.

Look. This lock is great. But for the price? You want it to be PERFECT. If you’re paying for this you really want to know that the schlage quality is there and that things are going to be reliable.
So far I have had the lock installed for about a month and have noticed a few petty things that have made me fall out of the initial wonderment I had at installing what is admittedly the fanciest lock I have seen in my life.
*the buttons are not raised as they appear to be in the product photos, they are flat and you have to touch the screen once to wake it up and THEN enter your code which takes some getting used to and has caused confusion for guests
*adding additional full users to the app is needlessly complicated and in my case did not function correctly the first time which lead to a very frustrated husband and about 45min of googling, only to realize that I was doing everything correctly but the app had malfunctioned.
*the network connection in the app is inconsistent. It is unclear if this is due to the server or the wireless in the lock itself but it is inconvenient at the worst times to want to unlock your door remotely (a feature we bought this lock for) and then be unable to until the app connects at its leisure.
*if you are trying to monitor your front door it is also important to note that the app only notifies you when the door is unlocked, not when it is opened. What does that mean? The lock itself will still allow you to open the door from the inside while it is locked and it does not physically disengage the lock from the outside, providing inconsistent data. On that note, and the most petty complaint of all: the handle still moves on the outside of the door when the door is locked. The locking mechanism works and it is totally fine, but the handle still moves freely so you have to jiggle the door a few times to make sure you’ve locked it.
Ok. So that was more than a few petty complaints. But overall? I absolutely love this lock. It is user friendly to install and easy enough to do with two people who are not mechanically inclined. The app is user friendly and it is very easy to add and delete codes. You can control the pause between the auto-lock feature or even disable auto-lock at your convenience.
And finally for those who are home networking minded, this lock DOES work with home assistant! It is not an advertised feature, but we have been able to set this up as a device in our home network and are able to pull and monitor data from it.

Works very well and looks great. Very expensive, but integration with home automation options is awesome. The app is pretty decent as well.

We got 4 of these locks for our house because the Schlage app is so convenient to see if the doors are locked. We also love that we can make temporary codes.

If you bore easily and don’t like details, skip this review – there are plenty of useless one and two sentence reviews you can read.
I read reviews prior to purchasing…and I HATE when people provide inaccurate information. If you aren’t sure of something, I don’t know why you’d review it.
I chose this particular Schlage pin-pad lock for a few reasons. The first is it replaced an earlier stand-alone Schlage pin-pad lock that lasted for 10 years. It was still functioning, but the numbers became less responsive and mushy. I could’ve simply changed our codes, but it was time for a technology upgrade. I like this model because of the non-mechanical touch-sense buttons that this unit offered – no buttons to wear-out. The keypad consists of raised, solid metal symbols that electrically sense when they’re touched – much more durable since there’s nothing mechanical to wear out.
Installation was very easy as long as you have a small degree of mechanical aptitude. Knowing how to change out a lock set to me is homeowner 101. But if you really lack such basic mechanical skills, go ahead and pay a handyman $100 to install it. The physical installation should not take you more than 20 minutes, including removing the old one. But before installing it I suggest unpacking the unit, putting the included Duracell batteries in it, then temporarily connecting the indoor and outdoor assemblies with the wire harness. Next, download the Schlage Home App, register your account and follow the prompts to gain connectivity to the unit. It walks you through step by step. I would then configure your door settings based on preference (name the door, auto lock time, keypad beeps, notifications, etc.). Lastly, enter your codes and save them to the lock. At this point, you can begin physically installing the lock set. No sense in doing so until you know you have connectivity. Note…You do not NEED to administer this via the App and Wi-Fi, but it makes it so much easier.
Now to clarify what was conflicting among various reviews…The backup key will absolutely unlock and re-lock the door if the batteries were to completely die. The key does not actually operate the latch bolt…it simply turns the mechanism that controls whether the outside lever retracts the latch bolt or not. I tested the above with the batteries removed and was able to unlock the door and then put it back into locked position. I think some people are confused because turning the key doesn’t retract the latch – it just allows the lever to retract the latch.
Another nice feature is the unit will send you low battery messages when they are low. The App also displays the current battery percentage. My older version had no connectivity and would indicate low battery via a series of beeps. Like many devices such as smoke detectors, I changed the battery once a year not knowing the actual status. Because this unit is also Wi-Fi connected, the estimated battery life is 6 months…but having the status displayed and being warned of low battery helps assure when they actually need to be changed.
The App also allows you to customize codes and receive notifications for when the code is used. This is helpful for knowing when kids come home, etc. You can set notifications based on user, so I don’t get notified when I or my wife uses it assuming everyone has their own code. Codes can be from 4 to 8 digits in length. The App also keeps an event history that you can review.
I am very happy with the build quality and functionality of the unit. Schlage is known to produce very good quality residential door locks and components. This was a great improvement.
NOTE: I purchased this item on Amazon for full price and have no affiliation to the seller. I try to write helpful, unbiased and insightful reviews because I also read reviews prior to making my own buying decisions. I notice many reviews lack helpful information, are not well written or give poor reviews based on not following directions, failing to read the product details prior to purchasing, inexperience or lack of skill. Writing useful reviews helps pay it forward.

OK, so I struggle a bit with technology. Odd, since I have a degree in Computer Science, and I have spent a long career developing mission critical systems for the military and for Air Traffic Control. But initially I could not pair my Schlage with my home wifi. The instructions on my phone said to press the reset button on the back, which would flash blue. The only button I could see that did that was the unlock button. Each attempt resulted in a “will not pair” message. Eventually I found another button, mostly hidden under the QR code stickee. Eureka, it worked.
Note, the diagram on the Schlage site is misleading, as it does not include the Lock and Unlock buttons.

Tres bonne serrure mais 1er achat n’avait pas recu le bon levier et apres avoir obtenu remplacement recu avec piles défectueuse….

My only issue is that the batteries can be difficult to replace if a deadbolt is installed to close above it.
