Purchased new from Amazon in April 2023. Product supplied to Amazon from USA Supply Source. Four months after purchase, the smartwatch will charge when plugged in but will NOT hold the charge. If you google, it appears this is a common problem with the fitbit charge 5. Have contacted Fitbit directly and have run all troubleshooting methods advised by the manufacturer. It’s basically a $150 paper weight at this point.

Fitbit will not honor the warranty because it was supplied to Amazon by USA Supply Source. Amazon will only refer us to USA Supply Source. USA Supply Source refuses to stand by the product and states: “I’m sorry this product is not cooperating. I wish I had better news, but unfortuantely this order is outside the 30 day return window…We do not service warranties on electronics.”

If you decide to purchase and risk the faulty battery mechansism, be careful of purchasing through Amazon as you will potentially have no honorable warranty for the product.

The new revision to the app is not good. Like everything the parent company does they want to control your experience the way they want you to see it. Now they do allow some customization and I am close to what I want to see first but I should be able to move the display around anyway I like. I have not found that to be the case. The blue tooth connectivity is so iffy with FitBit. It will work fine for awhile and then quit working.
I do like the brighter display finally over the old very dim, can’t see in daylight displays. I’m not how long I will continue with FitBit. This may be my last attempt. I struggled with rating this 3 stars or 4 but finally gave them the benefit for the display lighting improvement.

Don’t like the charging aspect at all that’s very ticklish to work with sometimes it doesn’t get my sleep right I kind of know when I go to sleep sometimes it’s an hour or two off sometimes it’s an hour or two off from when I get up that troubles me. It does run quite a while on a charge that is nice. The vibrator could be a little stronger so that I know that I’ve got something going on.

I have owned several Fitbit devices over the past several years and they have all eventually ‘died’ on me. Those I could live since they lasted longer than a year or so. However, after owning this particular device for only 9 months, it decided to stop working. Screen went black and after resetting it, the screen flashed and went black again. Contacted Fitbit support who agreed that device should be returned/replaced. However, as soon as they discovered that I bought the device on Amazon and from an “unauthorized” Fitbit dealer, they couldn’t honor the 1 year warranty. So I contacted the seller who said only that they have a 30 day return policy but they’ll see what they can do. That was about three weeks ago and still no response. So needless to say I’m looking for a new device from a different manufacturer. “Buyer beware” if you want the full length of your warranty to be honored.
